The results of education and employment market research emphasise the necessity of "employability“ and the need to continuously maintain this by engaging in life-long and career-parallel learning. In the case of academic training, this means arranging the learning and professional practical phases as flexibly as possible. Hence, continuing training and advancement are not just "a return to the school benches", but are also part of a continuous and individual development process.
Education Providers not only meet their statutory responsibility by developing appropriate continuing training offerings, but also increasingly recognise that a strategic challenge lies therein. In the course of reorganising the academic "initial training" to create a system of multi-cycle degree programmes, opportunities open up for academic education and continuing training as an integral task for life-long learning to define mutually harmonised curricular and modular structures.
FIBAA sees itself as an associate of the HEI and Continuing Education Instiutions in developing, establishing and advancing continuing training opportunities and offerings.
