Due to the fast development of the market and the speed at which information becomes obsolete, lifelong learning has now become an important factor for success for most companies and an important requisite in order to remain competitive.
Specific knowledge is required in some sectors and jobs in order to ensure that employees are (still) able to cope with increasingly demanding tasks. These companies often cannot readily turn to external training providers. They train their employees in their in-house training establishments, the "corporate universities" or more generally, the "corporate learning units".
Corporate learning units particularly serve the further training of the next generation of management. What is essential here is that these recognisably relate to the company objectives and requirements and therefore the results of the further training make a documented contribution to the company's advancement. A further aspect is the linking of the further training programmes with the academic courses of study, something which is increasingly gaining in importance.
Due to a constantly growing demand and on the basis of many years of international experience in the area of the accreditation of courses and universities as well as in the area of the certification of further training courses, the FIBAA has developed a process for the institutional certification of the corporate learning units. This means it assists the companies in the development, establishment and further development of their corporate learning units and makes them "fit for the future" by considering the academic link.
