You want to get an overview of the quality of your institution or of one of its units or of a certain attribute (e.g. internationality)? Our evaluation procedure is the perfect tool for you. 

We take your goals and needs as a guideline and make, according to international benchmarks, a detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of your institution. We identify potential and opportunities which have not yet been used, and analyse weaknesses and risks that need to be tackled. For this reason, this evaluation procedure helps you in the strategic planning and further development of your institution and can also serve as a preparation for an accreditation. In our evaluation procedures, we take into account the European Standards and Guidelines.

Procedural Steps of Institutional Evaluation

 

1- Informative briefing 
An initial briefing is held prior to the submission of your application and provides you together with our guidelines with information on key contents and steps. You decide on the objectices to be assessed- if needed, we organise an in-house workshop to prepare your team for the procedure. 

2- Self-evaluation report 
Once you have signed the contract, we draw up an assessment guide and send you the relevant information and documents (assessment guide and list of appendices to self-report) you need for drafting your self-evaluation report. In this report you should describe (in particular) your goals and their implementation (status quo), statistical data, and facts. You will also be asked to submit all relevant documents. 

3- Assessor Panel 
Once you have submitted your self-evaluation report, we choose experts accoding to quality criteria and appoint an expert panel consisting of at least the following persons: Experts from the scientific field (as appropriate members with experience in the management of education providers and in quality assurance), an expert from the professional field and a student. We prepare our experts both for their task in general and for the concrete procedure at your institution in particular. 

4- Site visit 
Once your self-evaluation report has been checked and an expert panel appointed, we will agree on a date for a site visit. The visit serves as an opportunity to gather information about, and receive an impression of your institution, to critically assess your self-evaluation report and to discuss all relevant topics with managers, teachers and other stakeholder groups of your institution. 

5- Assessment report 
After the site visit the expert panel will draft a report, which will include recommendations. The report will clearly and comprehensively document the panel's assessment of each criterion. You get the draft report to comment on the experts' appraisal and your statement will be taken into account. The final assessment report contains the facts and analyses, reflections and recommendations which will help you to define the further development of your institution/programm etc. The report is published in accordance with the ESG. Institutions may appeal against the result of the evaluation. The evaluation can also prepare you for a national accreditation. In this case, please refer to the note below.
