In May 2024, a decision by the Indonesian Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology resulted in FIBAA not being included in the official list of recognized international accreditation bodies. Despite this setback, FIBAA remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting and enhancing the quality of higher education in Indonesia. Recognizing the importance of official recognition, FIBAA submitted a new proposal for inclusion in the list of recognized international accreditation bodies.

FIBAA remains dedicated to fostering quality development in Indonesian higher education, supporting institutions in achieving international standards and enhancing global competitiveness. We are optimistic that our ongoing efforts and demonstrated commitment will result in renewed recognition from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in Indonesia.

Since entering the Indonesian higher education market, FIBAA has conducted more than 500 programme accreditations across more than 50 universities, making it one of the most active international quality assurance agencies in Indonesia.

FIBAA has worked with a diverse range of public and private higher education institutions, supporting them in aligning their academic programmes with internationally recognised quality standards and strengthening their international profile. Through its accreditation activities, FIBAA has contributed to the enhancement of teaching and learning, curriculum development, student-centred education, quality assurance systems, and internationalisation strategies at Indonesian universities.
