Expert's Tasks

The task of the FIBAA Expert in accreditation or certification procedures is to make assessments of the quality of the programme, certificate course or institution on the basis of the higher education institution's documentation and the results of the assessment and to arrive at a recommendation regarding accreditation or certification. FIBAA lays down this recommendation in an expert report, which is then submitted to the expert panel for approval.

Assessment is an essential component of an accreditation or certification procedure. For this, about two days are required for programme accreditations, one day for certifications and two dates of about two days each for institution-related procedures. The assessments are carried out in consultation with the higher education institutions on-site, hybrid or digitally, depending on their spatial resources.

In accreditation and certification procedures, FIBAA Experts do not see themselves as representatives of particular social interests, but as independent experts.
